Acceptable Use Policy
What is allowed and what is prohibited on the Vizno platform - content rules, conduct rules, and consequences for violation.
1. Purpose
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") describes what users and creators may and may not do on the Vizno platform. It exists to keep the service safe and lawful for everyone who uses it, to satisfy the requirements of Vizno's payment and banking partners, and to align with applicable law in the jurisdictions Vizno operates in.
The full end-user content rules are published at vizno.com/legal/content-policy. This compliance document summarizes those rules and adds the enforcement and reporting procedures expected by payment processors, banking partners, and regulatory authorities.
2. Scope
This policy applies to:
- All users and creators accessing the Vizno platform at vizno.com and any related subdomains.
- All content published, uploaded, or otherwise submitted to the platform.
- All payments and payouts processed through the platform.
- All conduct on the platform, including in-product messaging, support correspondence, and any other communications channel.
3. Allowed content
Vizno is an adult-friendly creator platform for visual novels and interactive fiction. Creators are granted broad latitude on subject matter, including adult and mature themes, provided that:
- All content involves fictional characters or, where real-person likenesses appear, the depicted person has consented and the use is lawful.
- Every project is assigned an accurate content rating (General, Mature, Adult) and an accurate register (Vizno or Vizno Uncut) and is tagged truthfully for sensitive themes.
- The content does not cross any of the absolute prohibitions listed in Section 4.
4. Prohibited content (absolute)
The following content is prohibited on Vizno regardless of artistic, journalistic, satirical, or any other claimed purpose. Prohibited content is removed on identification, the responsible account is suspended pending review, and where required by law the matter is reported to the appropriate authorities.
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM). Any visual or textual depiction that sexualizes a minor. Includes AI-generated depictions, "loli/shota" style content, and content depicting characters described as adults but rendered as minors. The detection, preservation, and reporting procedure is described in the Child Safety Policy (forthcoming) and references Vizno's NCMEC ESP registration and Microsoft PhotoDNA enrollment.
- Non-consensual sexual content involving identifiable real people. This includes deepfake content, leaked private material, and any sexual depiction of a real person who has not provided documented consent.
- Content that sexualizes or depicts the sexual exploitation of any person under 18, regardless of whether the person is real or fictional, regardless of how the character's age is described, and regardless of artistic style.
- Content depicting real, non-consensual sexual violence, real torture, real murder, or other unlawful acts presented as actual events.
- Content that incites imminent violence against a specific person or group, content that constitutes a credible threat, or content used to harass or stalk a specific individual.
- Content that promotes or facilitates illegal activity, including but not limited to trafficking, controlled-substance sales outside of lawful retail, weapons trafficking, fraud, malware distribution, or evasion of sanctions.
- Content that infringes the intellectual property rights of others beyond fair use, after notice has been received and the creator has not provided a counter-notification that resolves the dispute. See the DMCA / Copyright Policy.
- Bestiality and any other content prohibited by the rules of Vizno's payment-card-network partners (Mastercard, Visa) under their respective integrity programs.
5. Prohibited conduct
In addition to prohibited content, users and creators must not:
- Misrate or mistag content. Untagged or misrated content is treated as a policy violation regardless of intent.
- Use the platform to harass, threaten, or impersonate another user.
- Attempt to bypass age-verification, content-rating, or geographic-availability controls.
- Use the platform to facilitate money laundering, transaction laundering, or any payment activity that misrepresents the underlying goods or services. See the AML / KYC Policy.
- Submit chargebacks for legitimate transactions in lieu of using the platform's refund process.
- Use automated means to scrape, replicate, or otherwise extract platform content without authorization.
- Attempt to compromise the security, availability, or integrity of the platform or other users' accounts.
- Operate the platform from, or transact with, any individual or entity on a US sanctions list (OFAC SDN, the Treasury's consolidated list, or equivalent EU/UK lists). Sanctions screening is applied to creators prior to payout and to reseller-program participants prior to enrollment.
6. Enforcement
Violations of this policy are addressed through one or more of the following actions, applied proportionally to the severity and pattern of the violation:
- Content removal. The offending content is taken down and recorded with a hash for future detection.
- Rating or tag correction. Content is re-rated or re-tagged by moderators, with notice to the creator.
- Account warning. A formal warning is logged against the account.
- Account suspension. Access is suspended pending review or completion of remediation steps.
- Account termination. Permanent removal from the platform, with payout settlement subject to any open compliance matters.
- Payout withholding. Where the violation creates a financial or compliance risk (chargeback liability, sanctions exposure, suspected fraud), payouts are withheld pending investigation.
- Reporting to authorities. Where required by law or where the conduct constitutes a reportable offense, the matter is referred to the appropriate authority (NCMEC for CSAM; law enforcement for credible threats; FinCEN for SAR-equivalent matters where applicable).
Account actions are decided by the founder or by a designated reviewer with documented authority; the action and its basis are recorded in the application audit log.
7. Reporting violations
Users may report suspected policy violations by emailing reports@vizno.com, or for child-safety matters specifically, safety@vizno.com. An in-product report control on the project page is planned and not yet built. Reports are reviewed within 24 hours during business hours; suspected CSAM matters are reviewed immediately and reported to NCMEC's CyberTipline as required by 18 U.S.C. § 2258A.
8. Appeals
A creator or user whose account or content has been actioned under this policy may appeal by emailing appeals@vizno.com within 30 days of the action. Appeals are reviewed by a person other than the original decision-maker where possible. Appeal decisions are final but do not preclude resubmission of materially different content for fresh review.
9. Coordination with related policies
This policy operates together with:
- The Content Policy (end-user-facing detail of what content is allowed).
- The Creator Terms of Service (creator-specific obligations).
- The DMCA / Copyright Policy (intellectual-property notice and takedown).
- The AML / KYC Policy (payment-side controls).
- The Information Security Policy (system-level controls).
10. Policy review
This policy is reviewed at least annually by the founder and updated as the platform, the regulatory landscape, or the requirements of Vizno's payment and banking partners evolve. Material changes are recorded with a revision date and communicated to users via the platform.
