Short answer: No. URL shorteners are prohibited for affiliate links on Vizno. Routing a tracking link through a shortening service (such as bit.ly or any equivalent tool) is treated as a cloaked URL, which violates affiliate program rules regardless of intent. Any conversions attributed through a shortened link may be voided, and repeated use can result in removal from the affiliate program.
What counts as a cloaked URL?
A cloaked URL is any link where the final destination - including its tracking parameters - is hidden from the viewer before they click. URL shorteners fall into this category because they mask both the domain and the affiliate query string. This applies to all shortening services, branded or otherwise.
Which link formats are permitted?
Affiliates must use their Vizno-issued tracking links directly, without modification by any redirect or shortening layer. You may embed the full link in anchor text (so the visible label can be anything you choose), but the underlying href must be the unmodified Vizno affiliate URL.
Consequences of using a prohibited link format
Using a URL shortener may result in one or more of the following:
- Conversion events generated through that link being marked ineligible and excluded from payout calculations.
- A warning issued to the affiliate account.
- Termination from the affiliate program for repeated or deliberate violations.
